We’re a fun, inclusive, and diverse team welcoming women aged 18 and over — whether you’ve played before or it’s your first time lacing up boots, there’s a place for you here.
After just a year of development, we entered the National League Division 2, finishing 4th in our debut season — and went on to win the league title two years in a row. In 2024, we went undefeated in the Arnold Clark Caledonia Midlands/East Region League 2, showing just how far we’ve come as a team.
Off the field, we’ve celebrated milestones that mean the world to us: our coach, Nicola Halfpenny, being named Coach of the Year; the success of our youth pathway through Borders Girls’ Rugby; and the strength we’ve found in honouring the memory of our teammate and friend, Eilidh.
So if you're 18 or over and thinking about joining — don’t wait. We train hard, laugh loud, and back each other fully. New players are always welcome. You can start anytime
During league season, we train every Wednesday and Friday night at Lower Poynder in Kelso.

Once the season wraps up, we shift to off-season training on Wednesdays only, from 7:00–8:30pm. These sessions vary from cardio and fitness to 7s-style games, keeping things fun while building strength and connection.

Borders Girls’ Rugby is an award-winning collaboration between clubs in the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland, giving girls aged 14–18 more opportunities to play and grow in the sport.
Launched in 2023— the programme has already seen success, with our U16s team earning Team of the Year at the 2025 Melrose Sevens Celebration of Women in Sport. In their first season, they became more than a team — they built trust, friendships, and a belief in each other that made this award truly special.
The vision for Borders Girls’ Rugby began with Eilidh Walker — an experienced player and coach whose legacy is at the heart of everything they do. Tragically, Eilidh passed away before the collaboration came to life, but they honour her every time they step on the pitch.
Her initials, framed by a heart, are stitched into every shirt they wear. And each year, they present the Spirit of Eilidh Walker Award to a player who embodies her generosity and spirit, both on and off the field.
The Memorial Fund created in her name has supported countless girls across the region — including our own — proving that Eilidh’s impact is still rippling through the game she loved.
